PMDD / PMS Research Study

The Current State of PMDD

There are at least 152 million women worldwide suffering from PMDD, a debilitating form of PMS.

A woman endures about 6 days of PMDD each month. Over her reproductive years, this amounts to ~7 years.

Double that with another 6 days of bleeding pain, and she now faces ~14 years of pain.

It might be more manageable if these symptoms were consecutive, spanning 7-14 years, followed by a pain-free life. But that's not the case.

The reality is that for ~2 weeks she struggles with PMDD & period pains, then spends 2 weeks trying to get back on track. Then again 2 weeks struggling, and again 2 weeks trying to pick up where she left off. And so on for 34 years.

We need answers.

With a problem like this, it seems highly beneficial to understand the root of the illness and find sustainable solutions beyond just buying monthly Prozac treatments.

Math used for example above:

Age PMDD starts: 16
Age PMDD ends: 50
Total yrs of PMDD: 50 - 16 = 34

PMDD/month: 6 days
Months in a year: 12
Total days of PMDD in a year: 6 * 12 = 72

Total PMDD days in 34 years: 72 * 34 = 2,448

Total PMDD years: 2,448 / 365 = 6.7 years
